What is a poem

If you throw a performance together as if a show,

Imbed hidden meanings a select audience will know,

Create a new flow, and rebel against the so called status quo

And shout how your own way is all there is to show.

If you decide to speak against something that isn’t right,

Slow everything down and push that there needs to be a fight,

Create a metaphor where a mouse becomes everyone’s blight

Or jumble the right sounds so people simply think it sounds right.

Why should I follow a predesigned structure, if all I want is to spread

Positivity or my mindset or something else, then I shouldn’t comply to what they want

But push my voice as I want, with my structure and sound and flow,

I should say what I want and then I go,

Because what is a poem if anyone knows,

But ideas that I show,

Simply and clearly, and then it ends without a fight
